Birth Doula Services
During Pregnancy
As your doula, I am here for you! Available from 8am-8pm for texting, or 24/7 for emergency phone support. We will meet twice during pregnancy at around 32 and 36 weeks to go over your birth plan, comfort measures, your postpartum plan, and any evidence based information that you desire.
During Labor
Once your labor has started, we will assess if you’re ready for me to come to you at your home or your place of birth. I will be there for your labor, supporting you physically, emotionally, and informationally to help you to have the birth you desire. Once baby is here, I will stay for 1-2 hours to help with feeding and to make sure everyone is doing well.
During Postpartum
After you have gotten settled in for a few days at home, I will come visit you to make sure you are healing well, to discuss your birth, and support you with lactation (including weighed feeding if desired). We will also have time to marvel at your newborn and all that you accomplished! Then I will check back in with you at various points throughout the next 6 weeks to answer any questions or share resources. I am available for those 6 weeks for phone calls or video chats to trouble shoot breast/chestfeeding, sleep issues, or general parent/baby care, or to refer out to other perinatal professionals as needed.

Photos taken during the labor and with the new baby (if desired) and shared with you (see examples here)
1 postpartum visit - includes any educational needs, discussing the birth, and a lactation evaluation if desired
Follow up to answer questions by text/email/phone for 6 weeks postpartum

SUPPORT DURING COVID-19
Because of COVID-19, things have been changing. I will continue to offer support in a way that makes both of us feel comfortable. As requirements change, I will try to stay updated on policies of local hospitals, birth centers, and home births. I have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19, and I am a Legacy and Providence Verified Doula.
For those who have taken a financial hit because of COVID-19, I am happy to discuss different payment options or a sliding scale with you.
I am currently offering a hybrid virtual and in person support package. The consultation will be done virtually. Prenatal meetings are virtual or in person, depending on your comfort and wishes. The postpartum visit will be in person.
When your labor begins, I will come to your home and join you as you labor until it is time to go to your place of birth, or meet you there, whichever is preferred. All hospitals in Portland are now allowing Doulas in addition to your partner, so I should be able to remain with you through the labor and birth. If, for some reason, I am not allowed in due to COVID-19 or other restrictions, I will continue to support you via phone or using an online platform like Zoom or FaceTime.
